ABOUT ME

Roberto Caruso, born in 1965, is Swiss with Italian roots, a second-generation immigrant with a healthy dose of Swissness – practically a perfect dual citizen. After nearly 20 years of experience in print and marketing, he went freelance in 2002. Since then, the multi-instrumentalist has worked as a freelance musician, producer, composer, event organizer, DJ, designer, and lyricist. His virtuosic, soulful guitar sound can be heard on various CD productions, and he enjoys an equally excellent reputation as a skilled and musical sideman. He has had the opportunity to collaborate with many wonderful musicians and artists over the years. His great stylistic versatility gives him the freedom he needs for a wide variety of projects. He composed the soundtrack for Michel Gammenthaler's last two stage shows, "Huh?" and "Charlatan," plays wonderful singer-songwriter pop gems in a duo with Hendrix Ackle, accompanies multimedia readings (by and with Urs Augstburger) and dance performances, creates top-class chillout soundscapes with Roli Schiltknecht on the hammered dulcimer, and was a permanent member and musical director of the Heinrich Müller Band from 2004 until autumn 2021. He also produced Müller's current album "As Long As I Can Sing." "Mastermind" Caruso also gained recognition as the initiator and musical director of various all-star projects for festivals, anniversaries, and special events. (Lenzburgiade, Badenfahrt, Salzhaus Brugg, Tribute to Bob Marley, etc.) He has shared the stage with many talented artists, including Büne Huber, James Gruntz, Sina, Gigi Moto, Lisa Doby, Mauro Corchia, Mich Gerber, Frank Powers, Marc Sway, Ellas, Pedro Lenz, Christoph Simon, Big Daddy Wilson, and many more. With his own live project, the Caruso Chillout Orchestra, he regularly wins the hearts of many world chillout music fans. His organizational talent and years of experience in media, advertising, and communication are ideal prerequisites for Caruso's work as a cultural promoter and event organizer. His best-known projects are artbar, MittwochsMusig, and CUBUS Live. Under the new label "First Born Boy," Caruso has been producing and releasing his own definition of electronic music since 2020. His compositions range from groovy pop, dance, and house tracks to atmospheric, electronic, oriental-tinged chillout songs. He has recently released relaxation music under the name YOGARUSO. The first two sessions are being streamed extensively and reaching a wide audience worldwide.
